Fig Kombucha Cocktail
A probiotic-rich cocktail that celebrates fermentation through fig kombucha and botanical gin harmony. The muddle fig and sage create earthy complexity while ginger beer adds spicy effervescence, resulting in a health-conscious drink that embodies Virgo's wellness wisdom and seasonal abundance.
Ingredients
2 oz gin
3 oz Ginger Lemon kombucha
1 oz fig syrup*
0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz quality ginger beer
2 fresh fig quarters
4 fresh sage leaves
*Fig Syrup:
1 cup fresh figs, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Simmer until figs break down, strain
Instructions
Prepare fig syrup: Combine chopped figs, sugar, and water in saucepan. Simmer 15 minutes until figs break down. Strain through fine mesh, cool and bottle.
In a shaker, muddle fig quarters with 2 sage leaves until fragrant.
Add gin, fig kombucha, fig syrup, and lemon juice.
Shake very gently to preserve kombucha's beneficial cultures.
Strain over fresh ice in mason jar or large rocks glass.
Top with ginger beer.
Garnish with remaining fig quarter and sage leaves.
Stir gently once before serving.
