Ingredients

  • 2 oz reposado tequila

  • 0.75 oz ancho chili liqueur

  • 0.5 oz cinnamon syrup

  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice

  • 2 dashes chocolate bitters

  • 1 dried chili thread for garnish

  • 1 cinnamon stick for smoking

  • Cocktail cloche or large stemless wine glass for serving

  1. Instructions

    1. Prepare your serving vessel by lighting a cinnamon stick and placing it on a heat-safe surface.

    2. Cover the smoking cinnamon stick with your cloche or glass to collect smoke.

    3. In a cocktail shaker, combine reposado tequila, ancho chili liqueur, cinnamon syrup, fresh lime juice, and chocolate bitters.

    4. Add ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.

    5. Remove the cinnamon stick from under the cloche, but keep the smoke trapped.

    6. Double strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe glass.

    7. Quickly place the smoke-filled cloche over the cocktail.

    8. Garnish with the dried chili thread.

    9. Present to guest and lift cloche tableside to release the aromatic smoke.
